Commission is paid on every payment a referred customer makes during their first 12 months, including plan upgrades and added seats.
Your referral is remembered for 120 days after someone clicks your link. If they sign up within that window, the customer is yours. If they click another partner's link later, the most recent click counts.
Your link carries your partner key. When a visitor arrives through it and signs up, the account is attributed to you, and every payment it makes is matched to you in PartnerStack.
